The Pacific Southwest Association of REALTORS® (PSAR) polls closed at 5:00 p.m. yesterday and the merger vote results are in.  The membership of the Pacific Southwest Association of REALTORS® and East San Diego County Association of REALTORS® each voted to approve a two-way merger of the associations. The North San Diego County Association of REALTORS® voted against merging.

Vote Results are as follows:

ASSOCIATION                                 FOR                          AGAINST

Pacific Southwest                                             221                                            33

North County                                                    588                                          614

East County                                                      273                                            14

Look for additional announcements over the next few months as the leaders of PSAR and ESDCAR complete the transition. The merger will accommodate new efficiencies and cost saving measures in an effort to keep membership dues low while potentially adding new services and expanding existing services. The proposed name of the resulting association has not been established and is subject to the approval of the National Association of REALTORS®.

We will continue to support your business as we always have.  You will continue to receive services in the same place and you may continue to participate in the association in the same manner.

You will receive additional information as services and programs are made available to you in additional locations.

Sincerely,

Peter Mendiola
2012 President

Consolidation and Expansion

The existing NSDCAR is actually the result of a number of associations merging to create a new association.  NSDCAR consolidated administrative functions and expanded services to all of the members.  This consolidation lowered the overhead and created the opportunity to provide more services for its membership while keeping membership fees low. Each district in the new association still maintains its local identity and holds meetings at its local service center.

The consolidation of of administrative functions like legal, receivables, payables, databases, IT & communications, helps the membership save money that is available for the association to expand services.  One immediate benefit to the members will be the availability of  seven service centers around the county to use when selling or working with buyers from out of the area.  The seven service center locations can be found by following this link.
